Our Mission Statement
Mission Statement:
We acknowledge that each child is special and accepted for themselves and will develop to the best of their ability.
We provide a happy and safe environment for children and staff where learning can take place.
We promote good communication between parents and school.
We aim to ensure that children leaving school in 6th class will be equipped with the curricular skills and with the confidence necessary to succeed at post-primary level.
We encourage children to take pride in their school community and to have a sense of respect, honesty and integrity.
About the School:
St. Coen’s NS is a Catholic School under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin.
Our school is named after St. Coen a derivation of the old Irish name Caoimhín meaning Kevin. The school is situated in an area formerly called Droim Coen or the Ridge of Kevin.
St. Coen’s NS opened its doors in the 2016/2017 academic year when two schools, St. Joseph’s GNS and St. Ernan’s BNS, were amalgamated. The current building in Merrymeeting opened in December of 2016.
